Here, the story is written around the existing facts in such a way that readers not directly involved in sustainability and climate change gain access to this information.<BR/><BR/>The challenge is that readers may not realize how factually accurate this book is and thus not embrace the urgency of the situation and how we as individuals need to take action." - Darcy Winslow, Founder of DSW Collective, LLC. and Executive-in-Residence at MIT's Sloan School of Management<BR/><BR/>"After reading the free first three chapters of Vapor Trails, I am now eagerly awaiting my copy of the book in the mail. I can not wait to find out how the lives of Raul, Mason Burnside and Jason end up. I love how this book tells the story of sustainability and climate change in a fictional framework in which any reader can relate too." - Jenna Forstrom, Market Research Analyst at DSW Collective, LLC.Jennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12401992255443495310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1797311713722931382.post-82756107038311075782009-03-14T15:03:00.000-07:002009-03-14T15:03:00.000-07:00Last night I completed Vapor Trails, flying throug...Last night I completed Vapor Trails, flying through the last 175 or so pages in one sitting. After writing down that "you rarely, if ever, saw your own [vapor trail]," I put my reviewer's pencil away and read for the sheer enjoyment and thrill that this riveting novel provides. While the scientist and engineer in me was pulled in by the details about CO2 sequestration, and the organization behaviorist soaked in the E-Staff dynamics and the whole systems implications, the fiction writer and reader was thoroughly entertained by the narrative and the character transformations. There is a serious cinematic appeal that makes Vapor Trails both educational and entertaining. Indeed I can see a major motion picture in the works. Read the book before Hollywood makes it a "must-see."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1797311713722931382.post-50454424432412921582009-03-12T10:46:00.000-07:002009-03-12T10:46:00.000-07:00Vapor Trails provides a significant environmental ...Vapor Trails provides a significant environmental message in a modern and suspenseful story. It is not hard to see how the industrial greed and ignorance presented in this tale is played out by today's corporations in support of our desires every day. Read it, understand your impact on the world around you and challenge yourself with the same questions Mason Burnside finds himself confronting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1797311713722931382.post-16485761545354305382009-03-09T11:25:00.000-07:002009-03-09T11:25:00.000-07:00Aristotle says that art needs to entertain as well...Aristotle says that art needs to entertain as well as educate. I believe he'd agree Vapor Trails succeeds. It's education packaged in an entertaining contemporary story. I average reading two or three novels a year. I've probably recommended Vapor Trails to ten people in the last two weeks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1797311713722931382.post-84832525065585064522009-03-09T11:22:00.000-07:002009-03-09T11:22:00.000-07:00I am not usually a novel reader. The novel artfully blends environmental, corporate and political perspectives, facts and story-telling, education and entertainment. I believe "vapor trails" will become part of our everyday lexicon like "a perfect storm".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1797311713722931382.post-3969428393460462462009-03-05T06:45:00.000-08:002009-03-05T06:45:00.000-08:00This is an important novel - no-one can read it wi...This is an important novel - no-one can read it without gaining an excellent understanding of our global conservation issues. Kudos to the authors for the numerous excellent stories that make up this novel - this is one that grandpa and teenager can both relate to, and discuss!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1797311713722931382.post-19008992119260537692009-02-14T05:30:00.000-08:002009-02-14T05:30:00.000-08:00Loved Vapor Trails! I was concerned (before picking it up) that the book might be too much sustainability and not enough story. Wrong! The story and characters are completely engaging. And some fantastic moments throughout. I was lierally welling up in one moment in Louisiana(I won't share details for those yet to read it) and felt the nervous, giddy tension as if I was there when two characters are on a dinner date. Issues of sustainability are deftly woven throughout the story in a way that flows and is informative but not didactic at all. It works! But again, most importantly, the story and writing is completely engaging and enjoyable. I have plans to use this book as gifts in our leadership development work on sustainability.John McGahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02487679094109931821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1797311713722931382.post-80306664314998886772009-02-11T11:43:00.000-08:002009-02-11T11:43:00.000-08:00I've read this book twice, and I'm getting to read...I've read this book twice, and I'm getting to read it a third time (If I can ever get it back from the friend who borrrowed it from me!)
